I've always resorted to colour while making photos, especially in nature. The vibrance of green and red and different interplay of colours always felt like it needed to be captured in its most saturated beauty.

But while I was living in the mountains sometime back, I was constantly taking in an overwhelming amount of visual beauty, showcasing itself in surreal shades. And at one point, I started documenting nature in monochrome. I wanted to see what would still be alluring to me about it, if it were stripped of its natural essence. These portraits of various elements in nature were made in different places, and much to my amazement, nature started to seem just as, or even more in some cases, alive and effervescent in monochrome.
